Eyebrow slits, also known as eyebrow cuts, or notches, are a trend that became popular in the 90s made fashionable by hip-hop artists, and before this we can even find evidence that “notching” was used throughout history and across cultures.
In 2020, notching is used for aesthetic purposes, but it can also be a form of penalty among friends when someone calls a bluff, or loses a bet. Done the right way, and it can make a statement. Done incorrectly, and, well, it might look like your eyebrow got swiped at by your cat.
